Finally, things are starting to settle down. I’ve managed to pull together paperwork, wireframe div layouts for a new site, and start working on the IA for another. I’ve sent out invites for our party this weekend (No making fun. It’s the 14th year we’ve done this party and our guests don’t really expect invitations–it’s just the right thing to do). I weeded thru a couple months of junk-mail that Wonderful Husband couldn’t identify as junk. I put dirty laundry into the hamper and puttered in my study playing with yarn for a bit.
I’d call that in and of itself “A Full Day”. Oh, I forgot going to work so I can keep Puppy in dog bones and treats.
Wonderful Husband’s Yarn Harlot Blessed Universal Toe Up Socks continue apace. The second sock is almost at the point where I can start another blasted short-row heel. Yes, I figured them out. Yes, they look very, very nice. Nope. I don’t think I like them anywhere near as much as the gusseted heel.

My Kew Socks are shaping up swimmingly. They’re a bit slower going since I want to finish WH’s UTUS. But I’m really quite pleased with them.

On a more adventurous note, Sissy sent me a package containing the “Jayne” cardigan from Colinette’s “Rock Gods” book. She was absolutely right! This thing is a complete and utter disaster. I sat and spread this thing out on the couch to look at it…

I tried it on to see if I was missing something (sorry it’s been along day and I’m just not up to a photoshoot)…

…and read the pattern instructions very carefully for over an hour. No way in bleepin’ Hades do these instructions produce what’s shown in the picture!
Based on this experience alone, I doubt I’ll ever contemplate knitting something from Colinette. Their instructions are poor. There’s no diagram to reassure you that you’re on the right track. The finishing instructions are even poorer. I went to the website to look for errata. I couldn’t find anything. I did a Google search. Nada. I even went to Ravelry–my wonderful, awesome Ravelry–nunca, nadie, nada! I couldn’t believe that no one had knit this. On second thought. Maybe that’s not so surprising.
Well…that’ll learn me.

Thanks for the heads up on Colinette- life is to short- as is my patience- for rotten patterns!
